New HD Version for 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oITes98nMLI

Top Cover Off 0:37
Faceplate Off 2:37
New Screen In 4:00
LED Flash 6:00

To replace a broken screen youll need a T4 or T5 (they used both during production) Torx (star) type screwdriver, a plastic knife and maybe some tweezers if the little L.E.D flash comes off the cover.
You can source a new screen online.
Please rate/sub and I'll do my best to put some more on here...

NOTICE FOR TECHNICIANS: (new HD version covers this problem)
Yes I know about the slim panel round the middle that should be taken off. BUT if the antenna comes off because the clips have been damaged and the little volume rocker falls out it would be very hard for a non-technical person to put it back correctly. Although not technically correct this method works fine as you can read in the comments below.

A Panasonic NV-GS70 camcorder was used to make this

  • hey can you tell me...are you recording in memory card or cassette.. :D

  • @geca46 This was recorded using MiniDV cassette, my new HD camera uses SD memory cards

  • Hi there, very nice and clear video, i liked it :)

But I want to ask a little question !

On my 6700 classic, on the right side, there are 2 "plastic" volume buttons, one of them ( volume down button ) fell off, and now its broken :( are there any these "frames" on ebay ? What name do they have ?

Thank you, waiting for your answer :)

  • @reVo1ted I've now uploaded a new HD version which shows how to change the frame. I've put a link in the description and a video response below

  • i'm not good at all.

Removing the top part I have broken the black plastics sourroundind the screws . Now the top part doesn't fix because the piece that is behaing the top is not fixed any more and move up.

How can i solve the problem?. Thanks very much.

  • An excellent step by step guide, no problem following instructions. It saved me alot of money.

    Thanks very much.

  • @sestar No you are the dick! This video just saved me £70! I like my 6700, the downside is the keyboard that lifts after a while. Mine also had loads of scratches. 3 Network were no longer offering to replace it so I was on the verge of buying a second hand one on ebay for £90! On seeing this video what I did instead was order a set of precision screwdrivers for £6 and a new fascia for £15! Used this video as a guide. I'm a woman, not technical at all, and now I have a revamped phone, you dick!

  • dzięx:)

  • thanks heaps! I'm glad I didn't hurry to go to a mobile repair shop

  • You'r right about either T4 or T5 screws. My screen came with a T5 which was too big really but just about did the job. The driver was only £3.50 so I'd recomment buying both. My screen cost under £5 and it shows now it's fitted, the resolution is nowhere near as good as the original. So I would recommend spending the extra and getting the a proper Nokia one or one that has more pixels than the one I bought but I'm content to have a working phone again and the repair cost me less than a tenner.

  • Thanks very much, used your video and successfully managed to replace my 6700 classic screen without any incidents. Much appreciated!

  • @reVo1ted I've just had a search on eBay and there's plenty, just search for 'nokia 6700 classic housing'.

I plan to make a Full HD version of this phone in the next few weeks. In the new video it will show how to put that tiny little 'volume rocker' part back in.

    Have a Happy New Year
