let me clarify... i think it IS interesting how you twist.. but it's different, and you twist to the same side, without counterbalance twist on other side?
this is a very powerful pose for self-healing that i love, when i am done i lay down, heart open, hands in mudra.. many do child's pose post, yes, but it seems to cover the heart again so quickly.. leaving it open perhaps provides a potential for a kriya moment...

interesting how you twist back to grab your foot, isn't that putting your pose out of alignment right from the start?

nice neck work! i did notice that you refer to the forward bend as ustrasana and not utanasana. also the counter pose idea - i believe that if you are going to continue practicing backbends, that doing a forward bend will lose that length you have acheived in the spine. a downward dog, supta pandangustasana, or maybe even a twist would be benificial.

Thanks Kira! I love back bends although I don't usually practice this pose too much as it has always been awkward and uncomfortable for my neck. This video has helped me think of camel in a new way and gave me ways to work with, and explore, my neck in this pose. Thanks again for helping me rediscover ustrasana.
Sweet! Let me know how the exploration goes. I also ditched camel pose for a long time until I started to realize that I could make it my own. xok
