Doctor Who Theme 7 - Closing Theme (1970-1980)

Back to its normal Monday afternoon upload, here is the continuation of my mini-series. This theme was used on almost every single closing titles from the beginning of the Pertwee era to the second-last series of the first Baker era. Obviously, this is the most famous version of the theme ever produced - whenever you ask someone about old Doctor Who they always mention the cliffhanger "sting" from their childhood. Anyway, thats enough waffle from me, enjoy!

Isn't the "sting" segment at the very beginning of this Murray Gold's and not Delia Derbyshire's?

WHAT??????? Certainly not!!! I don't think Murray wasn't even born when the "sting" was first created (or if he was born, he was very, very young). Nope, the sting is Delia's through and through!

After hearing it a few more tims after i left that comment, I realized that it WASN'T Gold's. Sorry. I'm anxious to see who will be doing the theme for 2010. Gold was asked to, but I think he turned it down.

That's if they have a new theme. And I think Murray has already been confirmed to be doing the music next year, but I'm not entirely sure.

@sixstanger00 The sting was introduced mid Jon Pertwee's first season to make the cliffhanger more scarey. I'm not sure who created the noise but I think it was Barry Letts idea ... though I may be wrong

i dont like the theme we have now :( its strayed too far from the originals, not nearly enough instruments, all synthesized.. doctor 10's theme was really true to the early theme but the new one is just bleh.. i dont like the new series or the new doctor much at all.. i feel bad for where this classic show is going.

Its confirmed now that Gold is doing a new arrangement for Smith, as well as taking a different approach to scoring episodes, under the Moff's supervision, no doubt.
