Pro-Pulse B-100 speed runs with catastrophic chassis failure. Equipment used: canon xl2, spektrum dx3s, pro-pulse b-100, spektrum sr3300t, losi xcelorin 8200kv 1/18th brushless system, 2200mah 3s 20c lipo, mip super diffs, mip shiney cvds, 3racing bearings, graphite drive shaft, titanium tie rods, hitec hs56hb. gearing is at 11/54. Im not exactly sure what happened, but if you listen @ 2:57 you can hear the devastation =) My acute rc accident investigating skills lead me to belive the chassis failed from stress under braking vs something striking the chassis, like a rock. Enjoy!

  • excuse me, what ESC are you using? Thumbs up if you want to know. thanks!

  • @LookUFO its a 1/18th Losi Xcelorin. doesn't look like they make it anymore... i use mostly castle now.

  • @johnfranks Hey Johnfranks, so they no londer make this motor correct? if so could i get the Castle Creations side winder micro 8000kv with same batt. and still get same speed?

  • @cubenitup I believe you are correct about the motor being discontinued. The castle 8000kv is a much smaller motor... Easier to mount, but likely less wattage & less surface area to dissipate heat. A lower KV motor with high watt rating would be ideal. To get the car up to higher speeds, you can use a larger pinion which will give you more tooth engagement over a high KV motor/pinion setup. Something like a Mega 16/15/3 or one of the Castle 26mm motors... Neither are a drop-in solution im afraid

  • Man it's fast! Is it worth the $ to buy it???

  • @RuSHPS3Gaming if you can get one on sale... otherwise check out the new rc18 clone at hobbyking.

  • @johnfranks where do you get the mip diffs

  • i used to run 4400kv with 3 s OUTRUNNER at 600watts geared 30/54.

it would get airborne well before top speed. i melted the diffs too many times so now i only run a 300watt outrunner.

  • Thanks, but what's the speed control unit that you used?

  • My car will keep up with you! ;)

  • @dinokingfan1 yea, check out hobbyking if you want LiPo. NiMh is more expensive these days, but still available if you just want to keep it simple. Google "RC18 NiMh" and you should come up with a bunch of 1600mah stick packs for around $15 usd. cheers!
