Woo! Marking my one year anniversary into saxo-pho-ning.

Note: I am *not* improvising - reading from sheet music :)

Hanson SA5, Vandoren V5 A27, Legere Signature #2.5

This is also my first outing with Logic :) Digging the "Jazz Vocal Room" IR reverb in space designer.

  • Wow, it sounds terrific for just one year...a long-term dream for me has been learning to play sax but I usually don´t dare trying because I´m afraid my neighbours would complain about the noise...:p

  • @Netvudu Thanks!!! Should give it a go, you never know! I only practice ~4 times a week now, maybe 1hr to 1.5hr each time. And I always stop before 9pm.

  • Bravo! Really getting pro now!

  • @ArkAngelDesign Thanks! Didn't see the reply notification from youtube leh :(

  • Wow for only playing one year you are quite good. Keep up the good work!

Also, I see that you have a V5 A27. Have you happened to have played the A17 as well? If so, can you tell me your opinion as I'm looking to get one of them for classical music.

  • @DoubleB159 Thanks! I haven't played an A17 before, it seems like a closer tip with a shorter lay, but no idea how it'll sound like. I have used the Vandoren Optimum AL4 before though, it's for classical as well, and it is very easy to play, as well as very good, intonation wise. I swapped over to the A27 mainly because of the sound concept - prefered how the A27 sounded. Perhaps you might want to add the Optumum AL4 to your list if you are out for a classical piece?

  • @MySaxophoneJourney Hi there! Thanks for the compliment :) I I practice about 3 times a week (alternate days), about an hour to 2 hours a session (usually an hour and a half thereabouts). I think I have a really great teacher, he emphasizes both technique and musicmanship. Cheers!

  • Wow! You've shown some major improvement for just one year. How much do you practice? Whatever you're doing, it's paying off BIG TIME. I see you are even feeling the music more and and getting more comfortable with each video. Keep up the good work/fun....
