HP Officejet Printer Pro 8000 (8500) Continuous Ink System (CISS) Install

Just finished installing a CISS system for one of our local customers. We had to take off the original chips from the original manufacturer cartridges and use a couple drops of superglue to attach the chips.

OMG! That shouldn't happen! Did you use a CIS system or did you use the stock cartridges? This ink should last you quite a while because it has aprox 100ml of ink in there. If you are using a CIS system, you might have forgot to insert the air filters into your ink tanks.

It is crap. F%$#ing HP cant be fooled. The printer turns in a endless loop of printerhead cleaning after the printer registers more prints per cartridge than possible. No fake system dealer can override HP lust for moneypoly. HP truely sucks. Is it not my choice to put a certain brand oil in my car, or choose my favourite bread at the bakery, or choose the clothes i wear??? I want to choose my own ink!!! It is unjust robbery.

Stay away from CISS units for HP 8500 printers. You will be quickly unhappy. The amount of headache you will go through to print after the chips "wear out" will make you crazy. Also, scanning and faxing are nearly impossible after any of the ink cartridges are "empty". This printer is best thrown away, or given to an enemy.

the system doesn't work after 500 pages, i've tried many systems ........ damn !! I have a headache

i have the same prob it tells me i'm out of ink when its full. How do I fix This?

@mediamex The ink levels will show a "?" when you get low on the ink. You will have to press 'ok' to continue printing, but it shouldn't lock up your printer and prevent you from printing. They are unable to make the auto-reset chips and it might take them a while to develop them.
