Sande Otieno - in training.
Sande, WBC International Super Bantam Weight Champion, lives in Jericho, a Nairobi ghetto otherwise known as "Falluja", due to the constant heat from confrontations between the law enforcers and young cats infringing the law in this crime-ridden hood.
Sande's boxing achievements
On 3rd March 2007, Sande won the WBC International SB title in a 3rd-round stop of Ghana's Wilson Lanquaye.
He then gave up his WBF, ABU and ECAPBF titles.
Sande defended his title successfully against Russia's Marsel Kasimov.
Sande was due to defend his title against Brazil's Carlos Oliveira, but the fight did not take place as the challenger pulled out at the weigh-in, citing abdominal pains (believed to be appendicitis).
Sande has 15 pro fights to his name, with no losses. He has won 6 by KO, and is represented by JabJab Promotions, Kenya.
Olympics 2008
Sande will not represent Kenya at the 2008 Olympics due to his professional status.
