I agree. Only a pro driver can out shift the auto in the 335i. Anyone who has driven the 335i in auto will understand what I mean.

but it shows us, for a normal "user" or driver, its more easier to use auto shifted. The 3 series 335 car comes with new generation of sachs auto shifting! it needs less than 100ms for shifting! Only pro drivers may be better in shifting

Talk english! I would take the steptronic every time. Been driving stick for years and with my 335i there is no delay in shifting. Manual (sink the clutch, let it out) - with steptronic, you don't have to do that and the shift is instant. If I have a drink in one hand, a burger in the other hand, I don't have to worry about shifting, I just throw it over to auto and the car shifts for me. Beautiful. I love my 335i.

i love all those Formula 1, Le Mans, WRC, D1 running the auto setup!! NOT!

unlike the slushbox you can control the revs of the car, use the clutch to help aid in things like coming into a corner, braking ect. Its also a direct drive metal to metal contact. The only reason performance companies like BMW produce auto trannies are for people like you THE COSTUMER not the ultimate drivers for the ultimate machines

Nice Video , between i was thinking to get an Manual on 335i but rite now i will go for auto step for sure .. i dont really care about that 2% .. and i believe not all the ppl drive manual are good driver

The auto can hold boost between shifts. The manual can't. Plus, the auto in the e90/e92 is great.

Wrong, superchargedturbo.

The 335i's steptronic auto tranny has a torque converter that's locked up all the time unless it's parked or neutral. In otherwords, it's not longer an excuse for being slower than its MT rival.

No, an automatic uses a torque converter so it eats power from the engine.. the shift speed is irrelevant here. Put a decent driver in the 335i and it would have won easily.
