Describes the operation of the AFR or Wide-Range air fuel ration sensor. The wide range or air fuel ratio sensor is a replacement technology for the older O2 sensor. This sensor has a much wider sensing ability and allows the ECM to control the air-fuel mixture on a wider range of ration, hence its name.
