@Stumperx This one is easy, All 4 gospels actually say Jesus was born of a virgin. The genealogies are there to prove the prophecy that Christ would come from the lineage of David. Matthew shows Joseph's, Jesus, legal father, lineage from David. Luke shows Mary's lineage from David since she is his ancestor as well. Are there really many more "contradictions," because I have seen none?
I'm sorry. I guess I should have came back and told you that I'm not playing this stupid game with someone that tries to change the meaning of words to fit their agendas. Have a good day, pervert-er of the English language.
No, you left because I proved you wrong. I made it pretty plain and simple for you. I used the dictionary, come on there was no perversion whatsoever there. I used very sound logical reasoning. You only failed to recognize this because of your misguided bias against the Bible. Please point out to me where I perverted the english language to fit my agenda because I think it is you who did so. I doubt you will show me where I did though because you have no clue. I do not expect a response.
You- "Well I know because he said exactly what he meant, there is nothing else to that." Now that I have shown you the contradiction, you are trying to say it's not what the word meant. Matthew 5:22 "Whosoever shall say Thou fool, shall be in danger of hellfire." It doesn't say "unless" or "except for". It's just as you said, "he said exactly what he meant". "This is different than Jesus' calling people fools." That's part of the contradiction. You're saying Jesus could say it, but we can't.
You don't realize what circular logic is do you? One second, you're arguing that the words mean something other than the word Jesus used, which is bull. The next second, you're basically admitting that he contradicted himself, but then ok it because it's Jesus.
"In context of the other two, he is speaking of calling someone a fool to harm them. This is different than Jesus' calling people fools. Besides Jesus is God is he going to hell?" You call a person a fool as an insult. Jesus was insultin
"Besides Jesus is God is he going to hell?" Once again, it's not real. Jesus can get away with contradicting himself because he wasn't real. At least the Greek gave their Gods human personalities to cover for the reason why the Gods allow so much and don't answer prayers. They are stories made by man to get these Jerry Springer type people back then under some control. They weren't civil, they needed something to scare them straight.
If you truley believe that then you obviously are reading a different bible to the experts who have found many contradictions and thousands of translation errors. Perhaps you are just one of the deluded indoctrinated people who talks a lot of sh1t and from the previous comments its clear to see that.
Experts? I doubt it, most of these "contradicions" I can prove wrong easily, and I am no expert. I have seen lists of the so called "contradictions" and it is clear they have just read the verse by itself instead of the chapter. They probably found a lot of those errors in the newer versions of the Bible. The King James version is the accurate text.
@olin10 ok here is an obvious one for you. Do you have your bible ready. Ok how come 2 gospels say Jesus is born of a virgin mother and yet the other 2 tell of Jesus line being descended down through to King David? There are many more. It matters not. Even if Jesus was real, he was just another ancient superstitious iron age man who believed in an imaginary god like most people thousands of years ago.
