Why you have the Beatles tagged is a tad confusing to me...or talking about the weather. dionnemichael has it right. Albert Hammond had nothing to do with the Beatles and the song is about going out to California to make it big in show Biz and the harsh reality of it not working out. Still, great song choice and because I went looking, I now know more about Mr Hammond than I ever knew before ;)

The media and local chambers of commerce always preach how much the climate in southern California is like the climate of the south of France or the Spanish riviera..I guess it sounds better than telling the truth and admitting that its more like Somalia or Libya! ..Having lived in LA for 2 years i can assure everyone that its more like Mogadishu than Barcelona!
