Just seeing how my Wii capture turns out on Youtube. I was able to use a component to HDMI converter to get the Wii 480p image to get read in by the Blackmagic Intensity Pro. Why? Because the Intensity Pro does not accept 480p over component. I can now capture Wii capture games without the need of the Hauppage HD PVR! Yay!

  • What's the name of the component/HDMI converter your using?

  • @Ladygagsalot It was just Component video to HDMI converter with auto upscale on Amazon.com.

  • Yes, I wanted to sell the Happauge since it seemed unnecessary to have two catpure devices. The Happauge was giving me trouble when I tested capturing PS2 footage. The $40 component to HDMI device converts everything to 720p@60hz so it's a godsend for 480i games. I'll have footage of a 480i game soon.

As for the trouble, not really. It's basically the same setup I had with the Hauppage but now only with one capture card.

  • that seems like a lot of trouble just to get 480P video from the Wii, why else did you do this? Or did you just want to get rid of the Hauppage?
