D (Sebastopol or Sevastopol) tuning... John Fahey used it wonderfully. 4 strings end up tuned down so tension would not be a factor. Going down further to open C, a Fahey and Kottke staple, drops 3 strings and raises one (b to c).
It is indeed a great tune, and many of these versions are so impressive.

yeah what I like everyone plays his own way...this version with feeling..some versions on the net very well but focus on technique. Original is very fragile..I play it on my Dobro..beautiful song..

You´re a nice guitarist , but I humbley think it does not sound quite the same as the original. You will get it in a couple of hours or weeks . I think you know , just try it again....good luck.....
