Jeff Riggenbach is an American libertarian journalist, author, editor, broadcaster, and educator. Riggenbach's first book, In Praise of Decadence (1998), argued that the baby boomers turned out to be far more libertarian in their personal philosophy than had been expected.

His second book, Why American History Is Not What They Say: An Introduction to Revisionism (2009), argued that political events and trends in late 20th Century America had led to a rebirth of popular interest in revisionist accounts of American history. In this study of American revisionists, Riggenbach identifies three distinct phases within American revisionism. (Source: Wikipedia)

  • Thoreau was a pascifist, and although I think "Civil Disobedience" was one the most important anarchist treatises in history, I am no pascifist. He was a feminist, an abolitionist, and an anarchist hero. In the end, I'm still in favor of self defense though...lol.

No one is perfect though, Thoreau.

"R.I.P. Riggenbach"!? Please say it ain't so...

  • @LibertyInOurTime Apologies...I saw a video called "Anarchast", it's a deries about anarchist capitalist types, and in the interview was one of my favorites, Doug Casey. He mentioned the death of an economist, the name somehow rang to me as Jeff Riggenbach's name...sorry, it wasn't him. I was mistaken, thank goodness for Jeff! But an Austrian economist did recently pass away, RIP, but I can't think of his name for the life of me! Watch the vid of Casey and find out for us both...lol.

Thanks for the clarification. :) It was easy to believe that Riggenbach may have passed because he has not made a Libertarian Tradition podcast since early August.
