Meiboscopy - Basic Introduction

Dealing with the idea concept that a sick gland may have been affected by immune factors diffusing through the palpebral conjunctiva from the tears. The immune factors levels in the tears are raised in auto immune diseases, smoking, irritants and pollutants. This list closely mirrors the associated co-morbidity factors of posterior blepharitis. Perhaps, in some people - the conjunctiva is leaky or faulty. This may explain why some people have MGD and not others.
