On Saturday, July 17th, areas in Pike County, Kentucky were devastated by a flood. Records show 6-8 inches of rain fell in 15-18 minutes. The river rose four feet in a couple of hours. This is the second time in 14 months our families and friends have suffered from a major flood.

  • I'm from Georgia and I was on a mission trip to Lookout,Kentucky on the Marrowbone Creek the week before that happened. We left the morning of July 17. Do u know how that area was affected? We worked w/ a bunch of kids at the Freeda Harris Ministry Center from Feds Creek and Allegheny and have no idea if those areas were affected.

  • Wow. I live up Coon Creek. I didn't see it when it was this bad. I left for Tennessee Saturday morning and got back the following Thursday. And I thought it looked bad then.

  • Thank you for posting this. I don't think that the average citizen has any idea the devastation that has occured. I feel so sad for the many who have experienced loss and will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

  • harless creek around tha marrowbone area got hit alot worse than this dont get me wrong this is bad, but harless creek there nothin left.

  • I just returned from Millard I spent a week there fixing the railroad from a mudslide. It is horrible that this isnt getting the media attention so that people can lend a hand. So sorry for the lose there. I witnessed it first hand.

  • sorry for you're loss i use to live up in pike county many years ago went to belfry high , sad to see the engineers still havent fixed the flooding issues from yrs ago seems the new addition of the cut through has added to the problems there.
