This video features some of the first dragonflies I've identified. You can view the Widow Skimmer, Twelve-spotted Skimmer, Common Whitetail, Dot-tailed Whiteface, White-faced Meadowhawk, Cherry-faced Meadowhawk (mentioned as some sort of amber-winged Meadowhawk in the video) and the Common Pondhawk. I mention a possible Ruby Meadowhawk, but it was a likely male Cherry-faced Meadowhawk. I have not yet gotten an expert opinion on it. I hope to get more species and better video in the months ahead. The video was shot at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center and along the Cedar River in Austin, MN in July of 2010.

  • I forgot to mention the spreadwing damselfly in the video is a likely Sweetflag Spreadwing.
