Scribe David Koepp (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, Spider-Man) tells WGA.org's Angle On what's the one thing every screenwriter should know about writing.
I really appreciated this video; it confirms a lot of what I feel about my own writing, especially the remarks about needing to love being alone in a room, writing. Yeah! The thought of mingling among the principles of a production does nothing for me (aside from causing a cold sweat), but finding a great one-liner or turning a scene totally on its head with one good edit is such a rush.
I like him. Heis a very witty and creative writer. I love his The Shadow script, and how it explained the whole background of Lamont Cranston.
The things I have heard peoplecomplain about Indy 4 are not his fault, they are George Lucas'. Such as the aliens. George came up with that idea, and Spielberg was FIERCLY opposed at first.
I liked Indy 4, though. And I hope he (Koepp) returns for Indy 5.
I think my dead grandmother could have written a better script for Indiana Jones 4! That movie was so bad that I don't even consider it apart of the series.
monkeywrench(good fuckin name by the way) and Serpico(you too but i probably shouldn't insult somebody who obviously has a few screws loose, i will anyways), ur both retarded. b4 you blindly comment further on something you know nothing about, tell me, how many screenwriting classes have you taken, how many screenwriters have you spoken too, and why do you think that you can make educated comments based purely on the notion that you go to movies and there for you know about them? stupid fucks

Koepp isn't a bad writer. He's written some amazing films.
He just wasn't the man for Indy 4.
