American Medical Response is a private ambulance company that contracts their services to the Riverside County Fire Department (among others). When the fire department receives a call, they will dispatch the call over 1 of 2 county dispatch frequencies. After the dispatch, the fire station and AMR must confirm the call on that same frequency. AMR has their own dispatch center and dispatches their ambulances on a different frequency than the main fire department's frequency. The AMR dispatch, after confirming the dispatch by county fire, simply switches their dispatch console to transmit on THEIR frequency. The problem sometimes, is that it is possible to either forget to unkey the mic or switch frequencies.

  • I sure hope this is a non EMS or fire employee who posted this. Shame on you if you are one of the hard working EMS folks. We all have private venting sessions within our cab...and an open mic happens. People like you bring down the industry.

  • how many times do u talk shit in your own car dumbass give these guys a break

  • Shit happens, we're humans too. Behind the scenes we have a sense of humor and a need to vent. From a public safety point of view, bug off.

  • This issue occurs quite frequently at my Communications center, especially on the P.D side. Some of the funny ones I recall most are a dispatcher in training saying, I hate this place, a morning dispatcher burping and saying excuse me, and most recently , a substitute dispatcher using the restroom.

  • Someone needs to get a life.

  • para medics and firefighters save lives. however they also take a LOT more shit then people expect. so when they are doing tasks you dont know exist and keep a level head think about it when ur swearing your ass off in traffic everyday.

  • Just like you cant swear in the military. EMS people are very professional, but they aren't superman. Swearing happens, don't get on your high horse and point fingers just cause you found an easy target to push your narcissistic ways.

  • Classic..However, my favorite radio blooper is the CHP dispatcher responding a unit to a TC ejection but instead says "eja-ulation."

  • At least it's an E call and not some bull $h!t hospice call at 4 am... Who cares.

  • Big deal? Everyone talks shit in the truck. Mistakes happen.

  • @tuskamel I agree with you, I sure hope that you are not fire/ems personal. How disrespectful!
