Happy Birthday to the Lizard King! Today Jim Morrison would have been 68 yrs old. He was an extraordinary songwriter, inspirational poet and sexiest man in rock'n roll history, well in my opinion. Growing up I would lose myself in his music, his pictures and I would read his poetry for hours, trying to dissect & understand exact meaning behind each & every word. He was creative & wise beyond his years, he pushed the limits with his lyrics and made me think about religion, literature, mysticism, poetry and psychology in ways that I don't think I would have ever grasped on my own. His energy was dark & raw yet flaming with brilliance & fearless acceptance of life and death. Through his lyrics & his poetry I discovered the deepest thoughts of mine, I better understood the chaos around me, in me, around the world & I learned to better understand the meaning of Life & what it means to be Free. Jim certenly made an impact in my life, and his magical spirit will forever live on. Oh & lets not forget that he was also a fashion icon!
