Acer One with Mandriva 2009 Linux

I installed Mandriva on my little Acer one. Had added 1gb ram, but Mandriva runs quite fast, a little better than Ubuntu right now. It detected all the hardware except the right side card reader.Updates will be slow for a few days as the demand is high right now.
I have used many os on this Acer one but Mandriva seems the best option and the most simple to install at this point.
CHECK "MANDRIVA 2009 ERRATA" FOR VIDEO and other problems, I was able to get everything working.

Yep, and it will right in fire too. I have a asus 1005ha that runs os x snow leopard. These little guys are not as underpowered as many think and there a lot of fun for the money.

This is the free version, but I couldn't get the bootloader to work on a usb fash drive so I installed it to the sdd. There are bound to be a few buds and updates.

I should add you can download mandriva 2009 and boot the cd and use the live cd to see if you like it without installing it.The servers are busy and I cant do updates yet and there are no codecs until I can do updates.

I have used xp and installed linux on the same hard drive, installing xp first and then linux using the free space on the windows partition.

But there are always things that can go wrong so back up your hard drive first if you you try it.If you uninstall linux you will have to install the the windows boot files whcih are on your windows cd.

Linux Mint is just fine on the AAO. Everything worked straight away.

I would not recommend Vista on an Acer One. However an XP and Linux dual boot is just fine.

The integraded WLAN works just great with Ubuntu Jaunty and Linux Mint, cant comment about Mandriva as shown in the video.

Mandriva works excellent on my eee! I even instaled it on me I7! Great Distro!
