  • "Courage is doing the right thing when no one is looking"

I would submit that patriotism can be defined the same way - a single selfless act done for honor, not glory.

    God bless him.

  • This guy has more class than Obama!

  • @Libslayer i would not say patrionism is a selfless act, in fact it's everything else

  • @Leonardsolie Obama wants to give men like him more chances in life while the conservatives don't care about men like this.

  • 51% tax money spent for make weapon for war, but not for those homeless...

US govt is full of shit..

  • @IamBILLY09 Firstly, I'm deploying to Afghan in May. Also, there is no such thing as "WWII remembrance" day. The poppy is a symbol of Armistice day, because after WWI all that grew on the battlefield were poppies.

  • for your information, I am frm the UK and i thInk u will find that burning any patriotic of national icon is a selfless act, n is taken seriously in the UK , 4 example wen muslim extremists burnt the red poppies, representing WWII rememberance day, people went crazy and angry, rememberance day is a tribute to all soldiers who sacrificed them selves in order to gain what we av 2day, freedom, human rights, and the world we live in. to achive GREAT BRITAIN! u dnt deserve 2 call your self BRITISH!

  • for your information, I am from the UK and i think youll find that burning any patriotic of national icon is a horible selfless act, and is taken seriously and we do react, for example muslim extremists burnt the red poppies, representing WWII, rememberance day, rememberance day is a tribute to all fallen soldiers who sacrificed them selves in order to achive what we have today, freedom, human rights, and the world we live in. SO DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR HAVE DAMN SOME APPRECIATION AND RESPECT!

  • I will never understand why people end up being so patriotic; patriotism makes no sense to me. Oh, and sam350999 is right about people not caring about the flag in Britain.

  • @sam350999 I was unaware of that. Honestly the thought of willingly allowing anyone to disrespect the flag goes against everything I believe in. If you don't understand where that patriotism comes from, research the story of our National Anthem. Its the same reason why we get so pissed if someone botches the singing of our National Anthem.

  • @wlindenlaub Honestly flag burning and desecration really does not bother the vast majority of people in the UK, Americans have a completely different view on the subject and that is why I was shocked this was on the news.
