@BroadsidejohnWhy is is that all you (experts) sic always try to run others down.Its not the corryvechan dancers for crying out loud,its a bunch of folk having fun.

Dancing is a we bit ragged and no one does a very good setting step, but what a dance. A bunch of us hiked , in our great kilts and broadswords, from the top of the Palm Springs(Calif) tram overnight to Idylwild. Before the sun went down we formed up and did a proper Reel of the 51st (all men) with our piper playing for us. This was on an Alpine meadow at 8,000 feet. It was epic..One of the great Country Dances. Thanks for the post.

This is very nice!
I remember when i first tried to dance it my brain nearly blew up because it seemed so complicated!But then i realised that scottish dances are all very logical and your main task is to understand the principles of turning-changeing-sets-reels and so on :)
One of the most positive dances in the world i believe:)

Read the label on the tin... the title says it all... this is the DANCE called 'Reel of the 51st Division'
