On foot to Jerusalem, Shai Fredo tells the story of his immigration to Israel from Etiophia in 1983

Shai Fredo is an Israeli actor, born in the village Matcha in Ethiopia.
In 1983 his extended family walked all the way to Sudan motivated by a longing to come to Israel, to Zion.
When they finally arrived Sudan - after more than one month of hardships on the way - they had to pretend that they were Muslims, so that the Sudanese soldiers would not turn them back.
After 11 months in Sudan they were airlifted to Israel in a secret operation.
Fredo's story is touching. His dream is one day to make a movie about the Etiophian Jews and their return to Zion.
