PB, you are misguided. the vocals are PERFECTLY in tune. The genius lies in the fact that the tuning scale is not the typical one used in conventional western harmony. Neo are not using the even tempered scales that bind musicians to the tyranny of classic western harmony. They are breaking the musical shackles that Dulcie Holland helped to lock around composer's wrists with her 'music theory' books.
The drum groove is not 'out of time'. It is 73 against 4 with a simple backbeat on 29 and 57.
