  • That boy could tell a story and write a mean tune. One talented dude. An international treasure that Stewart.

  • What an incredible gem ! So precisely played, with delicately intricated instruments all along the song. And oh so heartfelt, so tasteful !! ROD STEWART 1964 - 1974 : the most criminally ignored rock'n'roll career ever.

  • why you guys talkin shit about rod hes not possessed or non respected hes a father of 8 lookin good and still singing his ass off in las vegas were have you all been mars?

  • @chapelierfoudre

Yeah, I hear you.I am tired of trying to explain to folks that Rod used to be a respectable artist with some of the most heartfelt performances ever put to tape

  • What happened to Mr.Stewart? Is he possessed of a demon or something? We want him back.He was among the most brilliant musicians of the early seventies. The same could be said for Ronnie

  • Scotland's finest voice .... thanks Roddy!

  • @NitroGary01 I hear you. This song is pretty complex for a popular song. The multiple rhythms, harmonies, rhythm lines, atonalities. It must be the gray and slate blue Scottish skies that brings that blue note to him. His early '70s music reminds me of a line from Three Days of the Condor, when Robert Redford is commenting on Faye Dunaway's photographs: "Not Fall, not Winter ---- November."

  • debbie bryant this is for you. keith

  • Ah, my youth. Funny how, when I feel a little blue, all Rod's early albums seem to fit the situation. Never a dull Moment, Gasoline Ally, Every Picture', and particularly Smiler (his finest).

It makes me think of late at night, a few beers and darkness, and now a tear in my eye.

  • Probably his best album.....
