SCOOPED UP BY THE LAW
Plot:
Single heiress Tony pays back a sneaky reporter for tricking her into an interview in which she unwittingly reveals sensitive details about her private life. She decides to give him a taste of his own medicine by falsely announcing their marriage which subjects him to the same type of hounding she has to endure. Throughout the film Steve is harassed by salesman, the public and the press.

In this sequence, Tony had just been arrested for speeding. Steve gets the upper hand, but only temporarily.

Here it makes much more sense why Power's put in jail whereas in the remake, he seems to be put in jail for the hell of it.

Good point. In the previous scene the two were creating a commotion. Power's gloating make him forget that he was on trial, too.

Thanks so much for sharing this cute clip with me, Shangai Benny! Mighty kind of ya! As did many other studios, Fox did a lot of remakes of their ealier successes. Nice of you to share clips from this fun flick & it's remake "That Wonderful Urge".
