Today, I joined Senators Boxer and Sanders on the Senate Floor to call for an extension of the Section 1603 Treasury Grant Program, which expires at the end of the year. The National Renewable Energy Lab estimates that the 1603 program has supported up to 290,000 U.S. jobs.
Other countries see the demand for clean energy, and in the race to meet that demand they are pulling ahead of us. China alone is investing $20 billion more in clean energy every year than the U.S. This is a race that we can't afford to lose and that's why I'm calling on the Senate to extend this vital program.
