If you listen to the versions by Billy Vaughn or Henry Mancini or Lawrence Welk, you will change your mind. No matter how you look at it, a copy-cat is a copy-cat.

I totally agree with you that both Kishore's and Asha's version are fantastic. The original Western song is 1935's 'Isle of Capri' and I personally think that Madan Mohan has actually improved the original song by adding much better instrumentation.
