I was born and raised on a farm along with my 5 siblings.
My parents and us worked like slaves on the farm, were happy, developed strong work ethic and never complained. I'm so glad we were raised the way we were. This song does not get hardly any air play and I just heard it on tv--oldies channel and remember when it came out.
This song has always struck a chord in my heart. I am a retired farm woman. I have spent many long hours sitting on a tractor in the hot blistering sun and working in the freezing cold. It's a very hard and often dangerous life. Thank you Murray!

Not enough credit to Murray--that is certain.

A Canadian classic. Song and singer. Underrated though.
