WSVN's switch to Fox would prove to be very smart years later. When Fox snatched away the NFL in '94 that touched off a wave of major network affiliate stations in other cities jumping on Fox's bandwagon. Another big benefit was the move of late local news to an hour earlier than before. WSVN led the way in that department. And more recent success stories like "American Idol" and iconic shows like "The Simpsons" gave Fox the signature identity that made their stations proud of the association.
