@Pigville2 And NZ is shit with their health care system ( grew up there), here in Australia we have medicare which makes a big difference in accessibility and affordability to see doctors for mind and body, (still no where near enough though).
You go talk to a homeless person and ask them why. I work with homeless people, all they need in compassion and understanding, most it was never their fault, its the governments fault for not providing enough services and adequate ones.
@Pigville2 for starters using the word 'crazy to describe someone living with a mental illness is discriminatory and "lazy for that matter too. do some comprehensive reading on what its like to suffer from various types of mental illnesses and also what its like to be an addict. Its not a matter of "you have a choice", its a matter of health.
@Pigville2 This is not like American where they have a 3rd world welfare system, this is New Zealad, if you don't have a home the taxpayer puts you in one, if you are a drug addict we pay for your rehab, if you have no money we give you the benefit. These people are lazy, get off the street and make something of yourselves, fuck your excuses.
@666smashfascists The strong make something of themself. The weak become a burden to society.
Obviously if a person is crazy then a person is crazy, that's not their fault. I'm saying that in NZ the permanently homeless people are either crazy or lazy, if they are crazy then i'm not judging them, if they are lazy then I am. (drug addicts etc don't count as 'crazy', they made their decisions and now they are suffering the consequences).
@Pigville2 You can not expect just because YOU made a comfortable conventional privileged life for yourself, that other people will too,. Everyone's circumstance and life experience is unique
@Pigville2 That is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard and a very uneducated one. You obviously have no real understanding of the concept of choice and opportunity a person can have. You have to have a sociological perspective and a deep understanding of societal violence, discrimination and oppression and how this effects people in their daily lives.
I'm from a shit suburb, grew up poor, was homeless several times for a total of about 9 months, sometime by choice sometimes not, despite all that I am now becoming successful, we just made a zombie film for $250,000, I am on holiday in Mexico for 6 months.
The point is that NZ is a land of opportunity, we have nothing serious to complain about, the government provides everything, these people are homeless because they are crazy or lazy.
