Contest Rules: (GMT)
(Video responses will require approval before being attached to this video, so be patient).
This contest is, first and foremost, an art film contest. Entries will be judged on visual and audio creativity, i.e.,
creative use of lighting, shadows, and sound. However, not ALL nightmares are about the night! Remember the ending of
"Carrie"? Nevertheless, while your video MUST have a NIGHTMARE theme. Advice: Do not simply sit and retell your nightmare
unless you plan on doing so very creatively. On another note, your depiction of a nightmare does not have to be based on one
you actually had. Be sure to read the GUIDELINES at the bottom:
GENERAL RULES:
1. Your entry must be posted as a response to THIS video.
2. The video must created solely for this contest.
3. Your video entry must be original, free from any copyrighted material or material that might be deemed as copyright
infringement by the judges. By uploading a video entry, you assume complete responsibility for its content and agree to all
terms of this contest.
4. IMPORTANT! The creator of the video must, at some point, be clearly visible within the video.
THEME RULES, ETC:
5. Your entry must pertain to a nightmare, actual or fictional. It may be an oration or completely visual. Once uploaded, the
video must not show a duration time on YouTube of more than 10:00 minutes.
ADVANTAGES:
6. You may enter multiple responses. However, if you upload more than one video, please put a number in the TITLE to make it
easier for the judges to refer to it. For example: RE: Nightmare Contest (1); RE: Nightmare Contest (2).
BEGINS AND ENDS
7. Contest begins at 12:00 noon, GMT, January 1, 2008 and ends at 12:00 midnight, GMT, March 1, 2008. No entry will be
accepted if submitted outside of this time frame.
Check GMT clock at: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

12.
Three prizes will be awarded but method of payment may vary, depending on the location of the winner:
1st place: $150 USD
2nd place: $75 USD
3rd place: $25 USD
GUIDELINES:
The most important aspect of each video will be atmosFEAR! Be creative with lighting, shadows, sounds. "Special effects"
should be used sparingly and only when they add to the overall tension of the video.
Do not feel that your nightmare needs to take place in the dark.
Keep in mind that this is not a story-telling contest. It is an Art Video Contest. If you chose to tell a story, be sure to
do so in a visually creative way.
Do not exceed the 10:00 minute limit. Videos shown by YouTube to be even one second over, will be disqualified. Your video
does not have to be long to be atmospheric and tense.

I knew I must have had subconscious inspiration for my short film. Too bad I'm only 2 months late. :-)

Not to worry. I just now got the spreadsheet telling the winners. But there is a tie for second place so another vote will take place tonight to decide who gets 2nd and who gets
3rd place.
