Some members from the Ferries of British Columbia Forum (Including Myself) had the opportunity to tour the Former BC Ferry MV Queen of Sidney, which was retired in 2000. It was the first BC Ferry to ever be built for the Province, and its Twin sister MV Queen of Tsawwassen is still in service today. Both sisters used to handle the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay route in 1960, until more ferries started to be built in the mid 60's. The Queen of Sidney spent its final days in service on the Powell River to Comox Route. She now sits on the Fraser River just west of Mission BC, rotting away, while rafted alongside the former WSF SS San Mateo.
