  • I understand the same guy designed both the LWA and LFTR. LWA was for the military and bombs and done fast-brute force to make bomb material, the Fukushima and Threemile Island reactors are of that variety. The LFTR was designed for the civilian- electric generation- use. The designer had saftey issues with the LWA and ended up out of the DOD and NRC programs due to his efforts to use the LFTR to satisfy the atoms for peace program. The designer was part of Manhattan project...

  • Right on! The more I learn about fission, the more I know that LFTR is the best way to go about it. We ought to forget about subsidizing wind and solar since this is about 1,000,000,000 x as energy dense. (Something I wouldn't have said before!).

  • Thank you Congressman Sestak! Since the disaster at Fukushima, it is time to look at this safer, cleaner, greener form of energy.

  • This needs to be put on TV!

  • God Bless you congressman Sestak

  • Thank you Congressman Sestak for your "critical" support. But please emphasize the importance of a molten salt design (e.g.: Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor); in order to effectively put nuclear power on a more environmentally friendly and sustainable path. Go LFTR, Beat Army!

  • Make sure that it is a LFTR and not a solid reactor. the LF is critical to making a TR work.

  • Happy to work in your district, Joe! I'd be damned proud if you can get funding for a new research LFTR and drop it in my neighborhood!
