In August of 2009 the Indigenous Environmental Network in partnership with First Nations effected by Canada's tar sands development teamed up with the London Camp for Climate Action 2009 to highlight the destructive role of UK based corporations most notably BP (British Petroleum) who are investing and operating in the largest and most destructive development in the history of mankind known as Canada's Tar Sands.

The following video is of Lionel Lepine, member of Athabasca Denesuline First Nations discussing the impact of Canada's Tar Sands on his community and their way of life. This was part of a full week of tar sands related events IEN coordinated during the London Camp for Climate Action in Blackheath (London) UK
