  • @ratarob Chrome paint is not chrome, the point of chrome is it is highly resistant to abbrasion and oxidization. Rattle can paint is just nickle or aluminium powder to give a metallic apperence it's purely cosmetic (will never provide amirrored finish.) Two part spray on "chrome" is collidal silver, it will give a mirror finish but its vary soft and will tarnish making it also cosmetic in function (it is a cheap alternative to chrome plateing plastics). There is no substatue for chrome

  • @ratarob

It's better, but more complicated and more expensive.

  • thanks 308RoadReady that is a good thing to know

  • @ratarob the chrome in a can is just a paint. Electroplating chemically fuses the chromium to the metal underneath it. Look at a 10 year old chrome in a can job then look at a 50 year old car bumper. The results speak for themselves. Cheers

  • Question: is this better, worst, or iqual to the new chrome paint they sell on the paint stores ?

  • LOL

  • Do you 3 wanks think this guy actually produced this video? NO! It was just an educational video from some high school that he posted.

  • Yes you are right another thing is that if good in chrome plating you doesent need to polish after the chroming process and look at the vid the anode is much to close at the kathode !!

    greetings from a german electroplater

  • Dude,do your homework.you have failed to explain the most important preparation and underlaying coats of COPPER and NICKEL.what you have just explained is industrial hard chrome which goes on at one thousandths of an inch per hour at a current of two amps per square inch.MISINFORMER! plater of 27 yrs.
