I took this video on the way to Oklahoma on 5/8/2009 of the derecho that cut across southern Missouri that morning. I stopped for awhile in an industrial park that seemed to receive a good portion of the damage. 18 tornadoes were confirmed by the NWS office in Springfield. Wind gusts from 70 - 90mph also accompanied the storm.

worst storm ever. Where I'm at, my house did not get hit at all. There was massive flooding, but no Tornadoes. That was the good news. The bad news was that the closest tornadoes were at Thompsonville and Royalton.

Very good video. This was discussed @ Storm Academy this past Saturday in Springfield @ OTC. by The National Weather Service.
I was @ Mountain Grove to Norwood Mo. when it hit . Winds held my wipers up 4" off windshield. Spotted what appeard to be a rain wraped funnel cloud about 3 miles to the Southeast of Norwood reported it @ 9:16 AM.

I'm glad someone caught this on video... I live in Springfield and I couldn't get out of my neighborhood for a day because a tree had fallen in the middle of every road...
