  • I'm not sure exactly what your after?

But this is SKA which is a sub-genre of reggae, you can find lots more ska on youtube aswell as reggae, or search google for reggae if you want to know more.

  • @bwoyrough Yeh sorry for those of you who took my works a little too technically! if you want to argue SKA was first then reggae but to any reggae fan i think 90% will tell you that Reggae to them means SKA/ROCKSTEADY/ROOTS/DUB many ska songs are reggae and vice versa, it's just the name reggae happened to come after ska to describe the new wave of that music, they all come from Jamaica and are part of the same genre which is Reggae if you ask me, i know some purists may want to argu

  • No need to be racist mate, I'm white and I love ska and reggae, which ever came first. Both great music.

  • @bwoyrough ehm, Reggae came from ska. First there was Jazz, which Jamaican musicians turned into Ska. Ska was slowed down so it became Rocksteady, then the bass- and organ lines changed and it was Reggae. So Reggae is originally a sub-genre of Ska, though it has started to live its own life.

  • @bwoyrough ska isnt a type of reggae, First becomes the ska, then the derivation: the reggae

  • @bwoyrough

Ska originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Not a sub-genre. First songs form Wailers were all ska, then Bob, Peter and Bunny ease them down and made reggae.

    Peace ;)

  • oh, sorry. It has been explained a million times by now :). Thanks for the upload!

  • @BeorhtFrognostic Finally someone who speaks with wisdom!

  • Sammy Dead (Eric Monty Morris), Al Capone's Guns Don't Argue, Jamaica ska.

Ska 1959-1966, rocksteady 1967/68, reggae in all it's forms came after that.
