straight outta NJ , The Feelies are largely the guitarist/songwritters Glenn Mercer and Bill Million. this video is the band from the 1st album playing the title track. the band is Glenn Mercer (guitar), Bill Million (guitar),Keith Clayton (bass) and Anton Fier (drums). the band broke up abruptly and it seems to me that only Fier really continued with a career though The Feelies have reformed for reunions and one-offs

There were never any good old days. They are today, they are tomorrow. It's a stupid thing we say, cursing tomorrow with sorrow.

Sure, in a lot of ways. Some for the better. For example, the Feelies would have a much easier time finding an audience and getting an independent record deal today than in their time.

you go listen to crazy rhythms right now.

after that the only albums they did sounded like fucking r.e.m. which is lame but they were still aright cause it's the feelies (some douche from r.e.m. helped them with their second release, maybe the third too, i can't remember)
the first album was produced by them, though.
influenced by lou reed, rhythm sections like television, and i'd have to say buddy holly cause o them glasses.

Crazy Rhythms is one of R.E.M.'s major influences.
