I help at my church distribution center and a food bank . I can food and there is no solder involved in canning the ends are crimped sealed into the can with a machine .

last I heard there is still lead used in small amounts just at the rim of the can when it is sealed.

Get a pot from your kitchen yours to small for that stove. A 5 or 6 in. pot about 3 in. hi with cover workes better
