@quarrion100 I think that it was more of a remembrance of the good times he had with her...If it was that he was thinking of... He always quoted from Dante's Inferno: "There is no greater sorrow than remembering a time of happiness, in a time of deep sadness....." Or something very similar to that quote... It actually appears in several of his works with some variation on the quote itself....

Is this available on Imslp.org!?!? Or anywhere for the sheetmusic?! This is amazing! I can't believe this was even found! This was the same one he wrote for his recently deceased mom right? :/ It's amazing... :)

Sadly this piece still hasn't appeared on IMSLP, no-one has uploaded it yet... While the time-frame might suggest it was written as a tribute to his mother who died from cholera in June 1854, it was actually written in August of the same year and dedicated to the family's governess, Anastasia Petrova. Considering how deeply the death of his mother shook Tchaikovsky, I am amazed that some two months later he was able to write such a jolly little work.

I don't suppose you have a recording of the original 1869 version of Romeo and Juliet do you?

It's actually not so rare, there are four available recordings of the 1869 version: Simon (Chandos); Jurowski (Pentatone); Gleeson (Carlton); and Atlas (IMP Masters). There is also one recording of the 1870 version as well.
Go to the website Unsung Composers and look for the Tchaikovsky Experience in the downloads section.
