@mackensie2212 no I think Murray should do what he did against Djoko at Rome 2011, change constantly from slice to topspin and put him everywhere on the court, but that means playing points longer than just a serve and a low-margin FH/BH, it means a 8-10 shot rally where he can really set things up properly and still keep his consistency strong. A job worth doing is always worth doing right. Only instance where Murray should keep points short is S&V, throw them in every now and then.
@imavaughanstar so let me get this straight, you slag Murray off because he plays very passively or 'pushes', just like Nadal, and when he play's more aggressively you also slag him off, what exactly do you want to see? playing aggressively with, what you call: 'no rhythm' is one of the only ways to beat Nadal, mix it up, don't let Nadal get his, cause he doesn't get tired: it's exactly what Djokovic does, and like Djokovic, Murray seceded in this match by taking Nadal's 'rhythm' apart.
@mackensie2212 no shit it was a miss hit. That's what happens when you play that aggressive with no sense of rhythm, control of even strategy. Murray's plan is to just shotgun blast Nadal, and like I said, very rarely is it effective. Just look at their head-to-head that year, Rafa beats him at three slam semi's consecutively, and you're trying to tell me that because he beats him at one minor tournament in the whole year that he's now managed to find the answer to Rafa's crazy spin? lol u mad?
@mackensie2212 I never said he couldn't beat Nadal. I said that the way he [Murray] plays, I doubt that he will ever do it on a regular basis because of how much risk there is in that style of play.
@BTuan1 just look at the point at 3:44. He gets in a pretty good first serve which makes Nadal give him a short return, and what does Murray do? He slogs it straight way. Just look at how ugly his forehand is, no brushing up on the ball at all. Straight into the net. Useless. He could have constructed a good point out of that. I can't see how anyone can appreciate Murray's game, its pathetic.
@BTuan1 are you kidding? Murray's victory over Nadal here is a perfect example of how Murray's playing works: once every six months, its magic. The rest of the time, its shit. Flat hitters will never be successful in the long run, because they're shots are simply far too inconsistent. Sometimes when they're taller, like Soderling and Del Potro, they're more successful, because they can strike the ball higher and make it clear the net. Not Murray. And I think 10 slams to 0 speaks for itself...
Would be interesting to see Murray and Djokovic competes with Backhands at their absolute best level. Their flat hittings on the BH side makes Nadal's top spin look simple "bad".
