Get a grip Fitzergerald, Masterofsparks has a point. Rev Wrights sermons were one of anger, not racism. I can bet you the folks at fox news and the powerful rich old white men know mr right to be an angry man yet they twist things around to suit their candidates.
Let me just throw something at you fitzergerald... Why is it that the same people who accused Obama of being muslim because of his arabic name and race are now accusing him of being a racist christian. Hypocrite.
-
If you haven't seen the wright sermons at length, but only the clips played on the news then I personally think your whole attempt here to get people to "think" is less effective than it could be. I urge you to look at the whole sermons and he doesn't seem all that radical (to me) and I'm your average white dude from Arkansas. Obama's character to me is way above par as far as politicians go. He's the real deal in the integrity dept.

Only one kind of person would fail to understand the reasons why blacks would be angry with the way they have been treated. What more do I need to know about you than that?
BTW Ron Paul wants to disband the education system and every safeguard put in place to protect citizens from the multinational corporations yet you support him.
No, I won't be needed anything further from you.

MasterOfSparks: You're CLEARLY the racist. You have no idea whether I'm red, black, white or green yet you make racist remarks like "your grandfathers tossed the rope over the limb." MY ancestors happened to be abolitionist who helped with The Underground Railroad.
You think anyone that questions a black person, no matter what it is, is a white racist. What a twisted mind set.
You're an adult "name calling" on Youtube. I'd say that's pretty pathetic...
-
Arthur: The videos have been posted about his character, therefore debates quickly persue. The only reason I am "banging this drum" is because it's what the video is talking about. I have debated many people who have posted other candidate's speeches as well, not just Obama and not just this topic.
Ron Paul did NOT want to get rid of education... He just wanted to get rid of the Federal education and give the power back to each individual state.

I definitely agree that there is a lot about this church and it's leaders that we don't know about. I am just trying to get people to question who they are voting for. I don't care who they are vote for, I just want them to THINK about what they stand for.
I know my Pastor never curses anyone or any race. I know that 99.9% of the time I agree with his views. Obama's Pastor seems to hate certain races. I would assume Obama agrees with his pastor the same 99.9% that I do with my Pastor.

Behind the masks of these right wing freaks whining about Obama's or Wright's "hatred" are some really ignorant racists. Could they really be so amazingly stupid that they're completely unaware of the countless reasons blacks and other minorities have for being angry? Maybe if your grandfather was left swinging from a tree because he looked at a white woman you might be a little ticked off too. But, no, your grandfathers tossed the rope over the limb and now you're whining. Pathetic.

To me the debate of Obamas' character as it relates to Wright's most rediculous statements is more pointless. Like I said, you have plenty of other reasons to not support him, but it's easiest to bang this kind of drum. The kind that stirs up white distrust of him as a radical black candidate. That's more redicluous than elimenating the dept. of education which is what ron paul said he would eventually do. I'm not going to call ron paul a racist just because of his newsletter.Or should I?
You stated that "anyone who is familiar with Barack KNOWS that this little montage of clips does not resemble his viewpoints even remotely"
I was wondering why someone (Barack) would be a member of a "church" for 17 years with a leader that is overflowing with hatred towards white people and America. Not a single one of you knows someone that is a member of ANYTHING for 17 years and doesn't have the same viewpoints as the one leading it.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Know any Catholics who use birth control? It's one of the Pope's new "seven deadly sins".
Know any Catholics who are pro-death penalty or pro-choice? Both major sins.
Know any soldiers opposed to the Iraq war? They're out there and re-enlisting nonetheless.
How about Republicans who think McCain is a joke on many issues but will vote for him anyway--are you one of them?

First, I wish to thank you for being mature about this conversation and not attacking me for having a friendly debate.
I am not a supporter of McCain in fact I don't like any of the front runners. I like Ron Paul a true Constitutionalist.
I made a slight mistake when I gave you a hard question and an easy one. As most people would, you answered multiple times to the easy one and not once to the harder one. Can you please answer the first question?
I wish I had more room to write...

fitzgerald, you're welcome and invited to express dissent in my threads so please keep it coming.
The 2 minutes of clips were the product of opposition research, which is the opposite of balanced journalism.
I don't know the details of how the Obamas benefited from the fellowship and community of their church, but I am certain that this propaganda left an enormous territory of experience in that congregation hidden from view and I cede them the right to consider it worthy of their membership.
