In part two of our CNG Now! education series, we take a look at the history of natural gas as a transportation fuel. Believe it or not, CNG has been used to power engines since 1860. Even though demand tapered off in the United States after the 1930s, compressed natural gas has remained a significant fuel source in South America, Europe and Asia since World War II.

  • I assume Natural Gas comes from Crude Oil. The problem with that is they still pollute and require energy to make unless we can make them from other natural resources without having to drill. I have seen motors that can run on a lesser amount of electricity while producing more. Electric Car with on-board generator may be the way to go instead.
