I'm sorry, no. The movie was awful. Over four hours of non-events and flat, disjointed narrative. There are no characters to speak of besides Che, and even Che is rendered as a sort of two-dimensional, strangely passive and distant character totally lacking in charisma. In addition, there is no dramatic tension or ever any sense of buildup. A criminally boring film.

I'm reading che guevara= a revolutionary life, by jon lee anderson, i've nearly finished. He never fought in guatamala, he was there during the riots, but he never actually fought.

Great question. Overall I'd characterize the film as a drama movie. Che Part One is almost all drama and development. Che Part Two is mainly action, coming to life more vividly with a less stationary camera than in Part One.
