I think you should make two profiles for each lighting condition.

Thanks for this video. For doing a custom white balance in camera do you find the white card in the Passport convenient and practical? I wondered if it might be too small because you have to be quite close for a custom white balance.
I have a classic 24 colour Getag MacBeth chart, which is bigger than the Passport and can be used for profiling using the same software but I didn't find it very practical for taking a custom white balance in camera because the white patch is too small.

Never do that. We take a shot of the checker and then apply sync the WB settings.

thanks for this tutorial. Question: Do you take pictures of the Passport on full auto (shutter/aperture/ISO/WB)?
I'm a new owner of the passport and I'm having difficulty importing pics of the passport (specifically indoors, under limited lighting), either through LR3 or through X-Rite's own application.
Thanks

We use Aperture priority, check the histogram and adjust EV to get a good exposure (neither clipped highlights nor much underexposed.
WB does not matter as the software figures it our (due to the gray patches)

Thank you. This was very helpful with getting me setup with my color checker passport.

Hard to say without the files. Best you go to X-Rite customer service.
