  • what about distilling water from your urine?

  • @teceyS3 distilling urine is a dead last resort. toxins distill with the water (such as ammonia) so that drinking distilled urine is dangerous. the potential sicknesses are (in most cases) more destructive than the small volume of water is worth.. use it if you really need it. but use any other option first.

  • Ive tried all these solar still methods...even on the beach in Florida and I've never gotten enough water to justify the effort of making the solar stills. When they demostrate it they just show you a few drips...You loose much more in sweat...The dew on the grass would be helpful if its heavy...but the stills are a waste of time...

  • @jjssccpphhdd i agree, to get enough water from a solar still you would need ten or twelve of them,

  • I mean great video.. I think... but you didnt actually collect any water for drinking.

  • yea , there wasnt much, about an 8 oz glassfull. if volume is what you need just use more than one solar still. the cloth on wet grass is the big producer(the most work too)

  • To make it easier to collect dew, run a long stick through both sleeves of a tee shirt and tie the ends of a cord on either side of the sleeve openings. Then, tie a rope to the center of the cord and drag it along behind you as you walk across the grassy field. Stop and wring out the tee shirt whenever it gets soppy wet. This will be much faster and is not stoop labor.

  • Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to do this for us!!

  • This dude is the BOMB. What a great tool it is to have survival skills. I admire him, because if you ever get lost or abandoned, he is the guy you want with you. I bet he can make fire with a Q-tip too. Anyone who knows how to survive off the land amazes me....

  • it shouldnt be that deep it needs to be about a foot deep and about 4-5 ft across so that the plants sweat more becuz the sun can reach then easyer

  • @jbmw25 Any green tree.

Water is released from leaves due to transpiration which is used to help plants survive in some conditions
