To me theres no real "mother of fighting games". I belive all great fighting games were completely different and had there unique differences. I still think Mortal Kombat would be a great vote for best fighting game franchise in history.

Tekken is fun but would not make any sense to put those two together. Guilty Gear would probably make more sense but still probably wouldn't be just right. I agree with Magnamarak, Killer Instinct would be a prefect match.

The mortal kombat franchise ruled my childhood! Ruled it completely lol. Till this day I still play the dam game! Heck today I just got the Mortal Kombat Kollection PS2 set lol.
