Melanson's Boatyard, an Ipswich, MA landmark since 1950, is consumed in a spectacular fireball and collapses into the Ipswich River on 7 August 2009. I took this video with my little Panasonic miniDV camcorder and it was featured on the Fox 25 Boston newscast that night.

If you look closely, you can see some suicidal fool in a tiny boat just offshore of the conflagration at the moment of the collapse. He is damn lucky the collapsing structure didn't take him with it, not to mention the flaming projectiles periodically blasting out over the water like incendiary artillery shells. I think those might have been exploding paint cans or something of the sort. What an imbecile!
